BECOME A MENTOR<\/h2>

Spectaculu School needs the support of new mentors to join forces over Brazil\u2019s financial crisis and keep on offering education to young people from low-income areas in Rio de Janeiro.<\/p>\n

Since 2002 Spectaculu School has been given financial help by mentors who are part of our Mentors\u2019 Network.<\/h1>\n

 <\/p>\n

Through monthly donations, the Mentors Network covers the additional costs that come with training the school\u2019s students, such as for class materials, the cost of giving them two daily meals, and the monthly grant (R$200 each = \u00a350, \u20ac60 or US$60) for travel costs.<\/p>\n

Mentors are kept informed of the individual students\u2019 progress through periodic reports, photographs, and can also meet their mentee when they wish.<\/p>\n

Currently, Spectaculu has about 80 mentors. These individual donors are mostly members of the artistic and business class, working in theatre, film, television, music, visual arts and photography. Many of them also help the school to integrate the young people in the labour market by recommending them for internships and jobs in the Brazilian creative industries.[\/vc_column_text][vc_column_text css=”.vc_custom_1491276691394{padding-top: 25px !important;padding-right: 25px !important;padding-bottom: 25px !important;padding-left: 25px !important;background-color: #f4f4f4 !important;}”]<\/p>\n
